Refurbished Dell Latitude 7420 for business users

This refurbished Dell Latitude 7420 is a thin-and-light business laptop with a 14.0 inch FHD non-touch display. It runs Windows 11 Pro on a quad-core Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor with 12 MB cache. The system includes 16GB of memory and a 1TB NVMe solid-state drive. It is graded A for excellent cosmetic condition.

Sustained workloads on integrated graphics

The Intel Iris Xe graphics uses shared system memory rather than dedicated video memory. Under prolonged heavy loads the integrated GPU and quad-core processor will share the same thermal envelope in the thin chassis. Thunderbolt 4 ports allow external GPU enclosures if graphics demands exceed the internal solution. The 1TB NVMe drive maintains consistent throughput without a mechanical hard drive present.

Check your peripheral

This unit provides two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, two Thunderbolt 4 ports and one HDMI 2.0 output. A single 3.5mm headset jack handles audio. There is no optical drive or additional video outputs. Verify that your monitors, docks and accessories match these interfaces. The package includes the laptop and a power adapter only.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the Core i7-1185G7 get when the Latitude 7420 runs all day?

The quad-core Tiger Lake chip shares system memory with the Iris Xe graphics and is cooled in a 0.71-inch chassis that weighs 2.95 lbs, so sustained loads stay within the thin-and-light thermal envelope.

What cables or docks must I already own to use the two Thunderbolt 4 ports and HDMI 2.0 output?

You need Thunderbolt 4-certified cables or a Thunderbolt 4 dock for the two Type-C ports, and a standard HDMI 2.0 cable for the single HDMI output.

Will my older USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A peripherals work with the two Type-A ports on this 7420?

Yes, the two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports are backward compatible with earlier USB-A devices, so existing mice, keyboards and flash drives connect directly.
