SCSI backplane board installs in Dell PowerEdge 2850 servers to connect internal drives
This Dell SCSI backplane board is designed specifically for the PowerEdge 2850 server chassis. It provides the physical interface for connecting internal SCSI drive bays to the system controller. The board is supplied new and ready for installation in compatible Dell PowerEdge servers.
As a passive circuit board with no active cooling components, the backplane generates no operational noise and draws negligible power beyond signal routing. It relies on the server chassis airflow for thermal management during normal operation. No fan or heatsink is integrated onto the board itself.

Power down the server, open the chassis, align the board with the internal drive cage connectors, press firmly until seated, then secure the retention screws before reconnecting drive cables.
The board has no moving parts; periodic visual inspection for dust on connectors and reseating if drive errors appear are the only typical upkeep.
