An 1100W redundant hot-swap power module with 80 PLUS PLATINUM efficiency for compatible PowerEdge servers
The Dell L1100E-S0 is an 1100 watt redundant power supply designed for PowerEdge rack and tower servers. It supports hot-swap replacement so a failed unit can be exchanged without shutting down the system. The module carries 80 PLUS PLATINUM certification for high efficiency. It fits the R520, R620, R720, R720XD, R820, T420, T620 and VRTX platforms.
At 1100 watts the unit delivers ample power for dual-processor configurations with multiple drives and expansion cards. The platinum rating means typical efficiency above ninety percent at fifty percent load, reducing waste heat and operating cost. Headroom shrinks when every slot is populated with high-draw components; a fully loaded R820 can approach the limit. Redundant pairing restores margin by sharing the load across two modules.
The hot-swap interface allows tool-less insertion and removal while the server remains powered, but only when a second compatible module is installed in the matching bay. A single module leaves the system without fail-over protection. The form factor is proprietary to the listed PowerEdge generation and will not fit standard ATX cases or later server models. Cabling and backplane connectors are fixed by the chassis design.
