Refurbished Dell Latitude 7490 laptop

The Dell Latitude 7490 is a refurbished 14.0-inch business laptop with a quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U processor. It includes 16GB of DDR4 2400 memory and a 256GB NVMe SSD. The anti-glare touchscreen supports 1920 x 1080 resolution and runs Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

Best for mobile office work; not for heavy graphics

This unit suits professionals who need a portable Windows 10 device with a responsive touchscreen for documents and web apps. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 uses shared memory, so buyers who want discrete graphics performance for rendering or gaming should look at something else.

Single memory slot limits future upgrades

The laptop has one memory slot supporting a maximum of 8GB per module, capping total RAM at 16GB. The installed 8GB x 2 configuration already reaches this limit, so anyone planning to add more memory later cannot do so with this chassis.

Questions about this item

How is the 256 GB NVMe SSD installed, and what step is often missed?

The drive slides into the M.2 slot and is secured with a single screw; people often forget to reinstall the screw before closing the case.

What maintenance will the 16 GB DDR4 2400 memory need later?

The memory is soldered with one slot occupied, so no upgrade is possible; only keep vents clear to avoid thermal throttling.

What limit appears first on the Intel UHD 620 during sustained loads?

Shared system memory and thermal headroom cap graphics performance before the 8 MB L3 cache becomes a factor.
