Genuine Dell Latitude 7480 motherboard

This motherboard is a direct replacement part for the Dell Latitude 7480 laptop. It integrates an Intel Core i7-6650U processor with a base clock of 2.2 GHz and a turbo boost up to 3.4 GHz. The board uses a BGA 1356 socket where the CPU is permanently soldered. It supports DDR4 SO-DIMM memory across two slots.

Suits owners repairing a Latitude 7480

The part fits only the Latitude 7480 chassis and matches the original LA-E131P layout and mounting points. Buyers needing a different form factor, a socketed processor for upgrades, or a board for another laptop model cannot use this component. It is not a standalone desktop motherboard.

Soldered i7-6650U with 32 GB DDR4 limit

The integrated processor delivers two cores and four threads with Intel HD Graphics 520. Memory capacity stops at 32 GB across the two SO-DIMM slots. This fixed configuration determines whether the board meets the performance and RAM requirements for the intended repair.

Questions about this item

How do I install this LA-E131P motherboard into a Latitude 7480, and which step is often missed?

Remove the bottom cover, disconnect the battery, swap the board, then reconnect all ribbon cables including the keyboard and trackpad flexes before closing the chassis.

What maintenance will this motherboard need over time?

The soldered i7-6650U cannot be upgraded; plan to refresh the thermal compound and clear dust from the heatsink fins when temperatures climb above normal.

What limit appears first during sustained heavy workloads on this board?

The 3.4 GHz turbo boost on the i7-6650U will throttle back to the 2.2 GHz base clock once the cooling solution reaches its thermal capacity.
