Rugged 2-in-1 for field work

The Dell Latitude 12" Rugged Extreme 7204 is a convertible laptop built to withstand harsh environments. Its 12.0 inch screen functions as a tablet when folded back. An Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB of RAM runs Windows 10 Pro. A 512GB solid-state drive provides the primary storage.

Suits mobile professionals needing durability

This device suits engineers, surveyors and first responders who need a computer that survives drops, vibration and weather exposure. The 2-in-1 form factor supports both desk and handheld use. Buyers who want a lightweight ultrabook for office travel should look elsewhere. Users requiring a larger display for detailed CAD review should consider other form factors.

12.0 inch convertible touchscreen decides fit

The 12.0 inch touchscreen is the specification that determines whether this unit fits the workflow. It dictates the physical footprint, the viewing area for schematics and the ergonomics for gloved operation. If the screen size is too small for the required software interface, the rugged chassis and internal components become irrelevant.
