Built for Mobile Professionals

The Dell Latitude 14-7490 is a 14.0 inch laptop powered by a quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U processor running at 1.90GHz. It comes with 32GB of system memory and a 512GB solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics drive a 1920 x 1080 non-touch display. This configuration suits professionals who need reliable performance for office applications and video conferencing on the move.

Verify Your Docking and Port Needs

Before ordering, confirm that the three USB ports and single HDMI output match your peripheral and external monitor requirements. The keyboard is not backlit, so consider whether you work in low-light conditions. A 720p webcam is integrated for calls. The chassis measures 0.70 by 13.03 by 8.7 inches. Ensure your bag or sleeve accommodates these dimensions and that the 32GB memory ceiling meets your long-term workload plans.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Under continuous multi-threaded workloads the quad-core processor will hit its thermal limits and reduce clock speeds to stay within the slim 0.70 inch profile. The integrated graphics share system memory, so extended rendering or heavy multitasking will consume RAM bandwidth. Fan noise increases during prolonged high utilisation. The 512GB SSD maintains consistent read and write speeds without thermal throttling during large file transfers.
