Business laptop for office work

The Dell Latitude 3520 pairs an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with 8GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. It runs Windows 10 Pro on a 15.6 inch HD IPS display at 1366 x 768 resolution. The configuration suits general productivity and remote management.

Thermals and power in daily use

A 65W power supply charges the 3-cell 54 WHr battery while the integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics keep heat output modest during typical office tasks. The 60Hz non-touch screen and Wi-Fi 6 AX201 connectivity draw little power, so fan noise stays low under normal workloads.

Bundled connectivity and accessories

The laptop provides 2 USB 3.1 Gen1 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port, 1 HDMI output and a USB 3.2 Type-C Gen2 connector plus a micro SD reader and RJ-45 Ethernet. A 720p HD webcam, Bluetooth 5.1 and a headphone/microphone combo jack complete the I/O for video calls and peripherals.

Questions about this item

How do I add more memory to the Latitude 3520, and what slot mistake do people make?

The laptop uses DDR4 SO-DIMM modules; the common error is buying a 288-pin desktop DIMM that will not fit the 260-pin laptop slot.

Which component will need replacement first during long-term ownership?

The 3-cell 54 WHr battery will degrade before the soldered CPU or the 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD.

What thermal limit appears first when the i5-1135G7 runs at 4.2 GHz for extended periods?

The 65 W power adapter and shared heat-pipe cannot dissipate sustained turbo power, so the CPU throttles to base clocks.
