Ready-to-deploy business ultrabook

The Dell Latitude 5401 arrives with Windows 11 Pro installed and an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 2133 memory and a 128 GB M.2 2242 SSD handle office workloads and video calls. The 14.0 inch 1920 x 1080 non-touch display keeps text sharp in a thin-and-light chassis.

Expandable platform for mobile work

Two SODIMM slots are populated with 8 GB modules, leaving zero free slots but supporting up to 32 GB total if both are replaced. The M.2 2242 slot accepts drives up to 1 TB for larger local datasets. One HDMI port, USB 3.1 ports and a USB-C connection drive external monitors and peripherals, while RJ-45 Ethernet and dual-band wireless cover wired and Wi-Fi networks.

Included power and imaging

A 65-watt AC adapter powers the system and charges the battery during travel. An integrated front-facing webcam supports conferencing without extra hardware. Windows 11 Pro licensing is pre-loaded, removing the need for a separate OS purchase or activation step.

Questions about this item

Does the 128 GB M.2 2242 SSD leave room for a larger drive when the 1 TB limit is reached?

The chassis supports one M.2 2242 drive up to 1 TB, so the 128 GB unit can be replaced with a higher-capacity module of the same form factor.

How warm or loud does the 65-watt AC adapter and quad-core i7-8650U get during an all-day workload?

The 65-watt adapter powers the quad-core processor and integrated graphics; typical business use keeps thermals and fan noise at office-friendly levels.
