Enterprise laptop for mobile professionals

The Latitude 5420 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built around an Intel Core i5 11th Gen processor with four cores running at 2.6 GHz. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe solid state drive. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed, making it ready for managed IT environments.

Cooling runs quietly during office workloads

The integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics and low-voltage CPU keep heat output modest during typical productivity tasks. Fan activity remains subdued when handling documents, web sessions or video calls. Power draw stays within the limits of the supplied charger, so the system does not need a bulky adapter for daily use.

Chassis uses a black finish

Two Thunderbolt 4 ports provide DisplayPort Alt Mode, USB4 data and Power Delivery for docks or high-resolution monitors. A full-size HDMI 2.0 port adds a second external display option without adapters. Gigabit Ethernet, a microSD card reader and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports cover legacy peripherals. The 1366 x 768 IPS panel is non-touch, so users who need pen input or higher pixel density should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 1 TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD and what step do people get wrong?

The drive is already installed in the M.2 slot; the common mistake is trying to add a second drive when no spare slot exists.

What maintenance will the 32 GB DDR4 memory need later?

The memory is soldered and not upgradeable; no user maintenance is required unless a fault develops.

At what point does the 1366 x 768 HD panel become the limiting factor under sustained use?

The panel caps external-display workflows at its native resolution, so multi-monitor scaling hits that ceiling first.
