Purpose-built mobile workstation

The Dell Latitude 5424 pairs an Intel Core i7-8650u processor with 32 GB of memory and a 512 GB solid-state drive. A 14-inch non-touch display at 1920 x 1080 resolution runs Windows 11 Pro out of the box. It suits professionals who need a compact, ready-to-deploy machine for office applications and multi-tasking.

Sustained workload behaviour

The U-series chip is designed for efficient performance within a thin-and-light chassis, so clock speeds will settle to maintain thermal limits during long compile, rendering or virtualisation sessions. Thirty-two gigabytes of RAM keeps multiple heavy workloads resident without swapping to the 512 GB drive. The included OEM power adapter supplies continuous power for extended desk use.

Pre-purchase checklist

Verify that the 14.0-inch form factor and fixed 1920 x 1080 non-touch panel match your mobility and visual requirements. Confirm that the single 512 GB drive provides enough local storage for your projects or that cloud and external options cover the gap. The package includes only the laptop and charger, so plan for any additional peripherals or docking solutions separately.

Questions about this item

How loud does the fan get on the Latitude 5424 when the i7-8650u runs at full load all day?

The i7-8650u is an ultra-low-power processor, so the Latitude 5424 stays relatively cool and the fan remains quiet during typical office workloads.

Does the 512 GB SSD in this Latitude 5424 require a specific caddy or screw that I need to source separately?

A caddy is included in the package, so the 512 GB drive is already secured and no extra parts are needed.

Will the Windows 11 Pro licence on this Latitude 5424 activate automatically if I swap the 512 GB drive into an older Dell laptop?

Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on the 512 GB SSD; moving the drive to different hardware will require reactivation through Microsoft.
