Rugged 14 inch business laptop

The Dell Latitude 5424 is a new rugged laptop built for mobile professionals who need a durable 14 inch device. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i5 8th Gen processor with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB SSD. The 1920 x 1080 anti-glare screen is non-touch and suited for outdoor or industrial use.

Simple setup with fixed memory layout

The laptop arrives with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and a power adapter included, so initial configuration is straightforward. Memory is installed in two slots and supports up to 32 GB total, but the 8GB shipped cannot be rearranged without opening the chassis. The integrated UHD 620 graphics use shared system memory, so adding RAM later improves graphics headroom.

Check ports and expansion needs first

Verify that the port selection matches your peripherals: two USB 3.0 Type-A, one USB 3.0 Type-A with a closeable door, one USB 3.0 Type-C supporting power and display, native RS-232 serial, RJ-45 gigabit Ethernet, HDMI and a universal audio jack. Wireless uses 802.11ac dual-band with Bluetooth 4.1. There is no optical drive and the battery is guaranteed to hold a charge.
