Rugged 14″ touchscreen laptop for field work

The Dell Latitude 5424 Rugged is a new 14-inch Windows 10 Pro laptop built for outdoor-readable use. It combines an 8th Generation Intel Core i5-8350U processor with 8GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB NVMe SSD. The sealed, backlit keyboard and 3-cell 51Whr battery support mobile professionals in harsh environments.

Integrated graphics and 802.11ac Wi‑Fi ceiling

Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 touch display without a discrete GPU, limiting 3D workloads to light visualisation. Wireless connectivity tops out at 802.11ac with Bluetooth 4.2, so high-density or Wi‑Fi 6 networks will not reach their rated throughput on this device.

Replaces semi-rugged or consumer ultraportables

Field teams moving from standard business notebooks gain MIL-STD durability, a sunlight-readable panel and legacy ports such as serial and RJ-45 in one chassis. The upgrade is worthwhile when dust, vibration or outdoor glare routinely interrupt work; offices that stay indoors and need heavier compute or lighter weight will not benefit.
