Target user and purpose

This Dell Latitude 5480 is a 14.0-inch laptop built for professionals who need a compact Windows machine with a Core i7 processor. The 16 GB of memory and 128 GB solid-state drive support everyday office workloads and light multitasking on the integrated Intel HD Graphics 530.

Setup checks before ordering

Verify that Windows 10 Home meets your software requirements, as the unit ships with a recovery image for that edition. The non-touch FHD display runs at 1920 x 1080, and the system includes Bluetooth but lists zero USB ports in the specification. Two memory slots are present with 16 GB already installed.

Upgrade context and limits

This model replaces older 14-inch business laptops that used slower processors or mechanical hard drives. The jump is worthwhile when moving from a dual-core system or an HDD-only configuration to this quad-capable Core i7 and SSD combination. Buyers who need larger local storage, a dedicated graphics processor, or a touchscreen should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the 128GB SSD come pre-installed or must I fit it myself?

The 128GB M.2 SSD is already installed; the laptop ships with Windows 10 Home and a recovery image on the drive so it is ready to use.

The listing shows 16GB RAM — is that a single module or two 8GB sticks across the two slots?

The system has 16GB installed across two memory slots; both slots are populated so adding more would require replacing one or both modules.

What does the 2.90GHz Core i7 rating mean for everyday workloads on the integrated Intel HD Graphics 530?

The 2.90GHz 7th generation Core i7 handles office multitasking and 1080p video smoothly; the HD 530 graphics share system memory and suit standard business apps but not modern gaming.
