Latitude 5490 12.0" business laptop

The Dell Latitude 5490 is a 12.0-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-8650U processor with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD. It runs Windows 11 Pro 64-bit and includes Intel HD Graphics 620, a 1366 x 768 non-touch display, Wi-Fi 8265, Bluetooth 4.2 and a webcam.

Who this suits; who should look elsewhere

Mobile professionals needing a light 3.5 kg chassis with dual memory slots supporting up to 32 GB DDR4 will value the port selection: two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, HDMI 1.4, VGA, RJ-45, microSD 4.0 reader, headset jack and DisplayPort over USB Type-C. Buyers who want a touchscreen, a higher-resolution panel, discrete graphics or an optical drive should consider other models.

Deciding specification: 12.0" 1366 x 768 non-touch

The 12.0-inch 1366 x 768 anti-glare screen defines the visual workspace; it is not a touchscreen and uses shared system memory for graphics. Confirm this resolution and size match your docking and mobility requirements before purchase.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Intel HD Graphics 620 is active after setting up the laptop?

Open Device Manager and expand Display adapters; Intel HD Graphics 620 should appear as the listed video card.

What items are included in the package and what must I purchase separately?

The box contains the Latitude 5490, a power adapter and Windows 11 Pro pre-installed; no manual, external mouse or additional accessories are supplied.

Which memory configuration should I choose if I want the maximum supported capacity?

The system ships with 16 GB DDR4 across two slots and supports up to 32 GB DDR4 total, so adding another 16 GB module reaches the limit.
