Business-ready 14.0" laptop

Suits mobile professionals.

This configuration fits office tasks, video calls and light multitasking on the move. The 14.0" form factor keeps weight low for daily commuting. Buyers who need more memory or storage for large media projects should look at a different specification.

512GB solid-state drive

The 512GB SSD provides the capacity and speed that define daily responsiveness for documents, email and cloud apps. It eliminates mechanical hard-drive latency and supports the included Windows 10 Pro installation. Verify that this capacity matches your data footprint before ordering.

Questions about this item

Will the battery in this Latitude 5490 need replacing after a certain period of daily use?

The unit ships with a functional battery and a 90‑day warranty; battery lifespan varies with usage patterns and charge cycles, so plan for a replacement when runtime no longer meets your needs.

What component hits its limit first when the i5‑8250U runs at full load for extended periods?

The 1.6 GHz quad‑core processor will hit its thermal ceiling before the 8 GB memory or 512 GB SSD, so sustained heavy tasks are limited by CPU cooling capacity.

How loud and hot does the 14.0″ chassis get when the system runs all day?

Under continuous load the fan spins up to manage the i5‑8250U heat, producing noticeable airflow noise and a warm keyboard deck, while idle or light work stays quiet and cool.
