Dell Latitude 5490 business laptop

The Dell Latitude 5490 is a 14.0-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-8350U processor running at 1.7 GHz. It comes with 8GB of memory and a 500GB solid-state drive. Windows 11 Pro is installed and an AC adapter is included. The unit is supplied in new condition.

Suits mobile professionals, not heavy workloads

This laptop suits professionals who need a portable Windows 11 Pro machine for office applications, email and web browsing. The 8GB memory and 500GB SSD handle everyday business tasks. Buyers who need more memory for virtualisation, larger storage for media libraries or a dedicated graphics processor for rendering should look at a different configuration.

500GB SSD determines storage capacity

The 500GB solid-state drive sets the total space available for the operating system, applications and user files. With Windows 11 Pro already installed, the remaining capacity decides how many projects and documents you can keep locally. If your workflow demands more internal storage, this specific unit will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

What existing power outlet or spare AC adapter do I need to run the Latitude 5490?

The laptop ships with an AC adapter included, so you only need a standard mains socket to power it.

Will my older USB-A peripherals such as a mouse or external drive work with this 14.0" business laptop?

Yes, the Latitude 5490 retains full-size USB-A ports, so legacy mice, keyboards and USB-A storage devices connect directly.

How can I confirm the Intel Core i5-8350U is running at its 1.7 GHz base speed after I set up Windows 11 Pro?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab and watch the CPU clock settle at 1.7 GHz when the system is idle.
