Dell Latitude 5490 Business Laptop

The Dell Latitude 5490 is a 14.0-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and includes Intel HD Graphics, HDMI, VGA, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and an audio combo jack. The unit is new with a Grade A cosmetic finish.

Suits mobile professionals needing Windows 11 Pro

This configuration suits office workers, students and remote staff who want a light 14-inch device with a quad-core CPU and solid-state storage for daily productivity. Buyers who need dedicated graphics, more than 8GB of memory or a larger screen should look at something else.

Quad-core i5-8350U with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD

The Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor paired with 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD determines whether this unit handles your workload. If your applications require more cores, higher memory capacity or faster storage, this specification will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

How much noise and heat does the i5-8350U produce when the laptop runs all day?

The quad-core i5-8350U handles typical business tasks quietly; sustained heavy loads will warm the chassis and spin the internal fan.

What must I already own to use the two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and the HDMI output?

You need USB 3.1 Gen 1 peripherals or cables for the two USB ports and an HDMI cable for the video output.

Will the VGA port and HDMI output work with older monitors I still use?

Yes, the HDMI port drives modern displays and the VGA port connects directly to legacy monitors without an adapter.
