14-inch business laptop with 8th Gen Core i7

The Dell Latitude 5490 pairs an Intel Core i7 8th Gen processor at 1.60 GHz with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD. It runs Windows 10 Pro on a 12.5 inch 1366 x 768 non-touch display with Intel HD Graphics 620. Built for mobile professionals, it includes Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 8265, Gigabit Ethernet and a webcam.

Upgrade from 8 GB or dual-core systems

Moving from an 8 GB dual-core notebook gives noticeable headroom for multitasking, larger spreadsheets and concurrent video calls. The jump is worth it when your current machine stutters with several browser tabs, Office apps and a VPN running together. The 256 GB SSD also cuts boot and app-launch times versus a mechanical drive.

Check power adapter and memory slots

The package includes a power adapter; verify the connector matches your region before ordering. Two DDR4 slots support up to 32 GB total, so confirm whether both are populated if you plan a future memory increase. Ports include USB 3.1 Gen 1, HDMI 1.4, VGA, RJ-45, microSD 4.0 reader and DisplayPort over USB Type-C.
