Professional 14-inch laptop

The Dell Latitude 5490 is a 14.0 inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-8350U processor with 4 cores and 8 threads. It comes with 16GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD for fast boot and application loading. The 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handle everyday office visuals. It ships with Windows 10 Home and includes HDMI, VGA and USB-C DisplayPort video outputs.

Mobile workers needing legacy ports

This unit suits professionals who travel between meetings and need HDMI, VGA and Gigabit Ethernet without carrying adapters. The 15W quad-core CPU and 16GB RAM handle multitasking across browser tabs, Office apps and video calls. Buyers who want a touchscreen, discrete graphics for creative rendering, or a newer operating system out of the box should look at something else.

256GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD

The single specification that decides fit is the 256GB NVMe PCIe M.2 solid-state drive. It provides rapid Windows 10 Home start-up and snappy application launches while keeping power draw low for longer battery life. If your workflow demands more local storage for large media libraries or project archives, this capacity will be a limiting factor.
