Latitude 5490 for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 5490 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built for people who travel or meet clients regularly. It ships new with Windows 10 Home and includes a charger and battery. The quad-core Intel Core i5-8350U processor runs at 1.7 GHz with a 15W thermal design. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display.

32 GB DDR4 memory for multitasking

This unit comes with 32 GB of DDR4 memory, a capacity that determines how many applications and browser tabs stay responsive at once. The memory is soldered and not user-upgradeable. Buyers who need more memory for virtual machines or large datasets should look elsewhere. The 512 GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD provides fast boot and load times for the operating system and active projects.

Sustained output on 15W thermal envelope

Under continuous load the 15W processor will throttle clock speeds to stay within its thermal limit, so long renders or compiles run slower than short bursts. The integrated graphics share system memory and are suited to office workloads and video playback, not 3D work. Three USB 3.0 ports, one USB-C with DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA and Gigabit Ethernet handle docks and external displays without extra adapters.
