Compact 14" business laptop

The Dell Latitude 5490 VM4K3 is a 14.0-inch laptop powered by an Intel i5-8350U processor with 8 GB of memory. It ships with Windows 10 Pro and a 128 GB solid state drive for long-term storage of your files. The compact form factor suits professionals who need a portable daily driver.

128 GB SSD and 8 GB RAM headroom

The 128 GB drive holds the operating system and essential business documents but fills quickly with large media libraries or local databases. The 8 GB of memory handles office multitasking and web browsing comfortably, yet it limits simultaneous virtual machines or heavy creative workloads.

Three USB 3.0 Type-A and one USB 3.1 Type-C

Three 5 Gb/s USB 3.0 Type-A ports connect peripherals, and one doubles as a charging port for phones or accessories. A 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Type-C port adds faster data transfers and video output options. An SD card reader, webcam, dual-array microphones and stereo speakers complete the built-in toolkit.

Questions about this item

Can the 5 Gb/s USB 3.0 Type-A ports connect my older USB 2.0 peripherals?

Yes, the three USB 3.0 Type-A ports are backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices, so your existing peripherals will work at their native speeds.

How can I verify the Intel i5-8350U processor and 8 GB RAM are detected correctly after first boot?

Open Settings > System > About in Windows 10 Pro to confirm the processor name and installed memory match the specifications.

Does the box include a USB-C charger or do I need to buy one separately for the 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Type-C port?

The laptop ships with its standard barrel-type AC adapter; a USB-C power supply is not included and must be purchased separately if you want to charge via the Type-C port.
