ThinkPad T14 G2 for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 G2 is a 14.0 inch business laptop running Windows 11 Pro. It combines an AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U processor with 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. The 1920 x 1080 FHD IPS display is non-touch. Integrated AMD Radeon Vega 8 graphics handle everyday visual tasks.

Upgrading from older ThinkPad models

This unit replaces an ageing 14 inch notebook that struggles with current workloads. The jump is worth it when your current machine has less than 16GB RAM, a smaller SSD or a processor below the Ryzen 7 5000 Series baseline of 1.90GHz. The single memory slot limits future expansion.

Suits office workers needing a ready Windows Pro

Buyers who want a clean Windows 11 Pro install with a recovery image and a large solid-state drive will find this configuration practical. Those who need a backlit keyboard, a touchscreen, additional memory slots or discrete graphics should look at something else.

Questions about this item

What physical space does the 1 TB M.2 drive occupy inside the 14.0 inch chassis?

The 1 TB solid-state drive uses the single M.2 slot on the system board, leaving no second M.2 bay for expansion.

How is the operating system restored on the 1 TB drive, and what step do buyers often skip?

Windows 11 Pro includes a hard-disk-based recovery image; the skipped step is launching the recovery environment before any clean install so the licensed image is preserved.

Which component will need replacement first when the 16 GB memory reaches its limit?

The laptop has one memory slot total, so the 16 GB module itself must be replaced with a higher-capacity stick to increase RAM.
