15.6" business laptop with i7-1185G7

The Dell Latitude 5520 is a 15.6 inch notebook built around a quad-core Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor that reaches 4.4 GHz with Turbo Boost. It ships with 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB solid-state drive. The 1366 x 768 HD display is non-touch and includes an integrated webcam. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed for professional environments.

Integrated graphics and thin chassis thermals

Integrated graphics handle daily workloads without a discrete GPU, keeping power draw modest inside the 19.87 mm thick chassis. The system weighs 1.59 kg and uses passive airflow paths suited to office applications rather than sustained heavy compute. Fan noise stays low during typical document, browser and video tasks.

Dual Thunderbolt ports and legacy I/O

Two Thunderbolt 4 ports with Power Delivery and DisplayPort alternate mode provide high-speed docking and charging through USB Type-C. Additional connectivity includes HDMI 2.0, two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, one with PowerShare, RJ45 Ethernet, a universal headset jack, a uSD 4.0 card reader and a wedge lock slot. A SmartCard reader is available as an option.

Questions about this item

How do I add the Thunderbolt 4 dock to the Latitude 5520, and which step do people skip?

Plug the dock into either USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port and approve the device in the Thunderbolt control centre; users often forget the authorisation prompt.

What part will need replacement first on the 5520?

The 512 GB SSD is the only user-replaceable storage device; battery life will degrade before the soldered 16 GB memory needs attention.

Which limit appears first when the i7-1185G7 runs at 4.40 GHz for long periods?

The integrated graphics share the 15 W thermal envelope with the CPU cores, so sustained turbo clocks throttle once the cooling solution saturates.
