Built for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 5520 is a 15.6-inch business laptop powered by an 11th Generation Intel Core i7-1185G7 vPro processor with four cores and eight threads. It ships with 64GB of DDR4 memory and a combined 4TB of PCIe NVMe storage configured as two 2TB drives. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 4.80 GHz maximum turbo frequency provides headroom for demanding applications, while the 63Whr battery with ExpressCharge support aims to maintain runtime during long sessions. Iris Xe graphics share system memory, so heavy graphical tasks will draw from the 64GB pool. The 250-nit IPS panel with TUV Rheinland low blue light certification reduces eye strain over extended use.

Deciding specification

The 4TB dual-drive NVMe configuration is the defining attribute; buyers who need more internal capacity must look elsewhere. Thunderbolt 4 ports with Power Delivery and DisplayPort alternate mode handle docking and high-speed peripherals. Wi-Fi 6 AX201 and Bluetooth 5.1 provide current wireless connectivity.

Questions about this item

How hot and loud does the i7-1185G7 vPro run when driven at 4.80 GHz all day?

The 11th Gen i7-1185G7 vPro has a 3.0 GHz base frequency and a 4.80 GHz max turbo frequency with 12MB Cache; the 63Whr ExpressCharge battery powers the 15.6" 250-nit display and Iris Xe Graphics inside the .78" thin chassis.

Which docks or monitors can I connect to the two Thunderbolt 4 ports without buying new cables?

Two Thunderbolt 4 ports with Power Delivery and DisplayPort (USB Type-C) plus one HDMI 2.0 and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports let you attach existing USB-C docks, DisplayPort monitors, USB-A peripherals and an HDMI screen directly.

Will my older USB-A drives, HDMI monitor and RJ-45 cable work straight away?

Yes — one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A with PowerShare, one standard USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, HDMI 2.0 and an RJ-45 jack are built in, so legacy drives, wired networks and 1080p displays connect without adapters.
