Dell Latitude 5521 overview

The Dell Latitude 5521 is a 15.6 inch laptop powered by an 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor with a minimum speed of 2.70 GHz. It comes with 32 GB of installed memory and a 128 GB solid-state drive. The system runs Windows 11 Pro and features a 1366 x 768 resolution WXGA display.

Installation and common issues

Memory upgrades are possible using the two available slots, while the M.2 solid-state drive can be swapped for a larger unit if more storage is required. The unit is professionally reconditioned and shows moderate cosmetic wear such as scratches, scuffs or minor cracks on the bezel and casing. Expansion slot covers may be missing and the screen may exhibit light scratches, up to two dead pixels or small bruises.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This laptop suits buyers who need a ready-to-use Windows 11 Pro machine with ample memory for multitasking and basic productivity tasks. It is not suited for users who require a higher-resolution display, a dedicated graphics processor, a touchscreen, a backlit keyboard or more than 128 GB of built-in storage. Buyers seeking a pristine cosmetic appearance should also consider other options.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Intel Core i5 11th Gen processor is running at its minimum 2.70GHz speed after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, and watch the CPU clock speed under load; it should reach at least 2.70GHz on the 11th Gen Core i5.

What is included in the box and what must I purchase separately for the Dell Latitude 5521?

The laptop, power adapter and Windows 11 Pro recovery image are included; no optical drive, expansion-slot covers or SD card are supplied, so buy those separately if needed.

Which storage capacity should I choose for the Latitude 5521 given the 128GB SSD may actually provide 120GB to 128GB usable space?

If you keep most files locally, consider upgrading to a larger M.2 SSD; the installed 128GB drive offers only 120GB to 128GB usable capacity.
