Latitude 5531 15.6" FHD Work Laptop

The Dell Latitude 5531 is a 15.6-inch Full HD laptop powered by a 14-core Intel Core i7-12800H processor reaching 4.8 GHz. It ships with 64 GB of memory and a 1 TB SSD running Windows 11 Pro. The non-touch display offers 1920 x 1080 resolution with integrated graphics and a built-in webcam. Wireless connectivity includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Suits Mobile Professionals.

This configuration suits professionals who need strong multi-core CPU performance and large memory capacity for virtual machines, heavy multitasking or data analysis on the move. The integrated graphics handle office applications and video playback well. Buyers who require a discrete GPU for 3D rendering, CAD or gaming should consider a different system. The non-touch screen also means pen input is not supported.

14-Core i7-12800H Decides Fit

The 14-core Intel Core i7-12800H with a 4.8 GHz turbo frequency is the specification that determines whether this laptop matches the workload. Its core count and clock speed enable parallel compile jobs, large spreadsheet calculations and concurrent virtual machines. If the workflow is primarily single-threaded or GPU-bound, the extra cores provide limited benefit and a different processor class may be more appropriate.

Questions about this item

Does the 14-core i7-12800H need an external GPU to drive a second 1920 x 1080 monitor?

No, the integrated graphics can drive the built-in 15.6" FHD panel and one external display at 1920 x 1080 without an extra GPU.

Will the Intel Wi-Fi 6E radio in this 2022 Latitude 5531 connect to my older 802.11ac router?

Yes, Wi-Fi 6E is backward compatible with 802.11ac so the laptop will join your existing network at ac speeds.

How can I verify the 64 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD are recognised after the first boot?

Open Windows 11 Pro Settings → System → About to confirm 64 GB installed RAM, then check File Explorer for a 1 TB system drive.
