Purpose-built business laptop

The ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 is a 14.0 inch Windows 11 Pro notebook powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with four cores and a 4.2 GHz maximum turbo frequency. It ships with 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 2TB PCIe SSD. The 1920 x 1080 IPS display is non-touch. Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics drive the panel. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, Gigabit Ethernet, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A ports, HDMI and a microSD reader. A 720p webcam and 50WHr battery complete the package. Weight is 3.23lb.

Best for mobile professionals

This configuration suits office workers, remote staff and students who need a durable, lightweight chassis with a large solid-state drive and modern wired and wireless links. The 16GB memory ceiling and integrated graphics make it a poor fit for buyers who want more memory, discrete GPU performance or a touchscreen. Heavy video editing, 3D rendering or gaming workloads should look at something else.

Deciding specification: 16GB soldered DDR4

The system provides 16GB of DDR4 memory with no open SO-DIMM slots for expansion. If your workflow regularly exceeds this capacity — large datasets, multiple virtual machines or heavy multitasking — this unit cannot be upgraded later. Buyers comfortable with a fixed 16GB limit will find the 2TB PCIe SSD and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity provide ample storage speed and peripheral bandwidth for typical business tasks.

Questions about this item

Will the i5-1135G7 and its DDR4 memory work with my existing DDR4 SODIMM sticks?

The laptop ships with 16GB of DDR4 memory already installed. The i5-1135G7 processor supports DDR4, so any additional SODIMM modules you keep must also be DDR4 to be compatible.

How can I confirm the 14.0" FHD IPS panel and Thunderbolt 4 ports are functioning after first boot?

Open Display Settings to verify the 1920 x 1080 resolution is active, then connect a Thunderbolt 4 device to either USB-C port and check Device Manager for a Thunderbolt controller listing.

Does the box include the 65W power supply and are any cables sold separately?

The 65W power supply is included in the box along with the laptop. All listed ports — HDMI, RJ-45, USB-A, USB-C Thunderbolt 4, headset jack and micro SD reader — are built in, so no extra cables are required for basic operation.
