Business laptop with 15.6" HD screen

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 15.6-inch laptop built around an Intel Core i5-8250U processor with four cores and eight threads. It ships with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB NVMe SSD running Windows 10 Pro. The HD display offers a 1366 x 768 resolution without touch input. This configuration suits professionals who need a traditional clamshell notebook for office applications and travel.

Integrated graphics and HDMI output limits

The Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles the internal panel and external displays through one HDMI port and one VGA port. Because the graphics are integrated, 3D performance is limited to light workloads and video playback. The HDMI connection supports standard external monitors or projectors for presentations, but the chipset does not drive high-refresh or high-resolution panels beyond typical office requirements.

Upgrade from dual-core or hard-drive systems

This unit replaces older dual-core laptops or machines still running mechanical hard drives. The quad-core i5-8250U and NVMe storage cut boot and application load times significantly compared to those platforms. Buyers who need more than 8GB of RAM or a higher-resolution screen should consider other models, as the memory ceiling is 32GB and the panel is fixed at HD.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 1TB NVMe or a smaller drive for this Latitude 5590?

The 1TB NVMe SSD gives you ample space for the operating system, applications and large files without needing external storage, while the NVMe interface keeps boot and load times fast on the i5-8250U platform.

What does the 1.6 GHz quad-core i5-8250U deliver in daily work?

The four cores and eight threads at 1.6 GHz with 6 MB cache handle multi-tasking, web browsing and office suites smoothly; the 15 W power envelope keeps heat and fan noise low during typical business use.

What can the single USB-C port actually do on this model?

The USB-C connector supports USB 3.0 data speeds and video output for an external display; it works alongside the HDMI and VGA ports for multi-monitor setups.
