Business laptop for office work

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 15.6-inch laptop built for daily business tasks. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i5-8250U quad-core processor with a 1.6 GHz base frequency and 6 MB L3 cache. The system includes 8GB DDR4 memory and a 256GB solid-state drive for responsive operation.

Core hardware and connectivity

The quad-core CPU can reach 3.6 GHz using Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 technology when workloads demand extra speed. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles standard display output through one HDMI port and one VGA port. Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports provide peripheral connections alongside Bluetooth wireless support.

Chassis and daily use

The black non-touchscreen chassis houses a built-in webcam for video calls and omits an optical drive to keep the profile simple. Standard styling suits typical office environments while the solid-state storage reduces noise and improves boot times. Connector selection covers legacy projectors and modern displays without adapters.

Questions about this item

Can the 8GB DDR4 memory be upgraded later?

The system ships with 8GB of DDR4 memory; Dell's service manual shows two SODIMM slots, so additional modules can be installed if a slot is free.

Will the Intel Core i5-8250U throttle during long compile jobs?

The quad-core processor has a 3.6 GHz Turbo Boost ceiling, but sustained loads are limited by the laptop's cooling capacity and 15 W base power.

How loud does the fan get when the laptop runs all day?

Under continuous load the fan spins up to move heat from the 15 W CPU; idle or light work keeps it near silent.
