Mobile workstation with six-core i7-8850H

The Dell Latitude 5591 is a new 15.6-inch laptop built around an Intel Core i7-8850H processor with six cores reaching 4.30 GHz turbo. It ships with 8 GB of memory, a 512 GB SSD and a 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed for immediate deployment in managed IT environments.

Ports and optional dock expand desk connectivity

The chassis provides HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort over USB Type-C, RJ45, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one USB 3.1 Gen 1 with Powershare, an SD slot, audio combo jack and optional uSIM. An optional Thunderbolt 3 controller enables the Dell WD15 dock to drive up to two Full HD monitors and peripherals through a single cable.

Integrated graphics and 8 GB RAM limit heavy

The integrated graphics chip shares system memory, so the 8 GB RAM ceiling restricts performance in 3D rendering, video editing or multi-monitor gaming. The 512 GB SSD offers fast boot and application load times but leaves no internal bay for a second drive. Buyers needing discrete GPU power or user-upgradable memory should consider other form factors.

Questions about this item

Will the 8 GB of soldered memory limit multitasking later?

The system ships with 8 GB of memory; if heavier workloads arrive you would need to replace the whole module rather than add a stick.

What throttles the i7-8850H first during long renders?

The six-core Coffee Lake chip hits its 4.30 GHz turbo ceiling, then thermal limits pull clocks back toward the 2.6 GHz base.

How loud does the fan get when the laptop runs flat-out all day?

Sustained loads spin the fan up to an audible whirr while the chassis surface warms to the touch.
