Compact business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7280 is a 12.5-inch full-HD notebook powered by a dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U running at 2.60 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of memory and a 256 GB solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed, making it ready for office tasks and education environments.

Included peripherals and software

A 720p webcam, dual-band 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in. The backlit keyboard helps in low-light conditions. Ports include USB-A, USB-C, HDMI and wired LAN. The genuine Windows 10 Pro licence activates immediately without extra steps.

Installation notes

The system arrives fully configured; first boot completes Windows setup in minutes. Driver packages are current for the 6th-generation Intel platform. The only common issue is the 256 GB drive filling quickly if large media libraries are stored locally.

Questions about this item

Will the 8GB of soldered memory need an upgrade later?

The 8GB is fixed on the board, so capacity cannot be increased after purchase.

What limits the Intel Core i7-6600U during all-day workloads?

The dual-core 2.60GHz CPU reaches its thermal ceiling and reduces speed to stay within its power envelope.

How loud and hot does the 12.5-inch chassis get under continuous load?

The compact body pushes warm air through a single vent; fan noise rises to an audible whine and the keyboard deck becomes noticeably warm.
