Compact business notebook

The Dell Latitude 7290 is a 12.5-inch Windows 11 Pro laptop built for mobile professionals. It runs on an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with Intel UHD Graphics 620. The system includes 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 128 GB PCIe M.2 SSD for responsive everyday performance. Its 1366 x 768 HD non-touch display keeps the chassis light at 2.69 lbs.

Ready to deploy

The laptop arrives with Windows 11 Pro already installed so it can join a domain or Azure AD straight away. Connectivity covers dual-band wireless, Bluetooth 4.1, two USB 3.0 ports and a USB Type-C port with DisplayPort output. A front-facing webcam supports video calls without extra peripherals. No optical drive is fitted, so software installs rely on network or USB media.

Suits travelling workers

This configuration fits users who need a lightweight, managed device for email, web apps and document editing on the move. The 128 GB drive and 8 GB RAM limit local storage and heavy multitasking, so buyers who want more storage or memory headroom should look at higher-capacity models. The integrated graphics are not intended for demanding 3D or video workloads.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the i5-8350U is hitting its 3.6 GHz turbo speed after setup?

Open Task Manager and watch the CPU frequency under load; the quad-core chip should show speeds up to 3.6 GHz when thermal headroom allows.

What ships with the 7290 and what must I source separately?

The unit includes the laptop, 8 GB DDR4 RAM (4 GB x 2), 128 GB PCIe M.2 SSD, Windows 11 Pro, webcam, dual-band wireless with Bluetooth 4.1, two USB 3.0 ports, USB Type-C with DisplayPort, and headphone jack; no optical drive or extra accessories are included.

Which storage capacity fits the 7290's M.2 slot among the 128, 256, 512 GB and 1 TB options?

All four capacities are compatible with the M.2 slot; choose 128 GB for a light OS-and-apps load, 256 GB or 512 GB for local media, or 1 TB if you need maximum space without external drives.
