Ready for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7290 is a 12.5 inch laptop built for frequent travel and client meetings. Its unibody chassis uses premium materials for structural rigidity while staying compact. A quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U processor running at 1.9 GHz pairs with 16 GB DDR4 memory for responsive multitasking. Windows 10 Pro drives the 1366 x 768 HD display.

Cool and efficient daily use

Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles visual output without a discrete GPU, keeping heat and noise low during office workloads. The 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD delivers fast boot and load times while drawing minimal power. A high-efficiency processor design supports longer battery runtime away from outlets. Fan activity stays subdued under typical productivity tasks.

Durable build with versatile ports

The unibody design resists flex and wear from daily transport. One HDMI port connects directly to projectors or external displays for presentations. A Thunderbolt USB-C port enables docks, high-speed storage or additional screens through a single cable. Two USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, a microSD reader and a 720p webcam cover peripheral and conferencing needs.

Questions about this item

How do I install the M.2 SATA SSD in this Latitude 7290, and what step is often missed?

Remove the bottom cover, insert the M.2 SATA drive at an angle into the slot, secure it with the single screw, then reinstall the cover; the step often missed is ensuring the drive is fully seated before tightening the screw.

What maintenance or replacement will the 128GB M.2 SATA SSD or 16GB DDR4 memory need later?

The M.2 SATA SSD and DDR4 memory are not user-serviceable; plan to replace the entire unit if storage capacity or memory performance becomes insufficient.

What limit appears first during sustained use of the Core i7-8650U with Intel UHD Graphics 620?

The processor's thermal envelope causes frequency scaling under prolonged load, reducing clock speeds before the integrated graphics or memory bandwidth become constraints.
