Portable power for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7290 is a 12.5-inch business laptop built for frequent travellers and client-facing roles. Its quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U processor runs at 1.9 GHz with 8 MB of L2 cache, paired with 8 GB of DDR4 memory. A 256 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe solid-state drive provides fast boot and load times. The 1366 x 768 HD non-touch display keeps the chassis compact and light.

Connectivity that supports a travelling workflow

Two USB 3.0 ports handle standard peripherals while a single Thunderbolt USB-C port adds high-speed data and video output options. An HDMI port connects directly to projectors or external displays for presentations. Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi with Bluetooth 4.2 cover wired and wireless networks. A microSD card reader allows quick media transfers without extra adapters.

Steady performance within an ultraportable envelope

Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles everyday productivity, video playback and multi-monitor setups without a discrete GPU. The efficient 1.90 GHz quad-core CPU sustains office workloads and web-based applications while preserving battery life during long meetings. Windows 10 Home runs on the 64-bit architecture, and the NVMe storage maintains responsive operation under continuous file access.

Questions about this item

Will the Intel Core i7-8650U 1.9 GHz throttle under sustained load?

The quad-core 1.9 GHz Intel Core i7-8650U with 8 MB L2 cache will reduce clocks when thermal limits are reached during prolonged heavy workloads.

How loud and hot does the 12.5" HD laptop get during all-day use?

Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 and the low-voltage CPU keep heat modest; fan noise rises only under continuous multi-core tasks.

Does the 256 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD require any extra hardware to boot?

The drive is pre-installed with Windows 10 Home on the M.2 NVMe PCIe slot, so no additional storage or caddy is needed.
