12-inch Windows 10 Pro laptop for mobile

The DELL Latitude 7290 ships new with an Intel Core i5-8350U processor at 1.70 GHz, 8 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD. The 12.5 inch anti-glare display runs at 1366 x 768 resolution using integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 with shared system memory. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Ports and wireless expand daily connectivity

Two USB 3.1 Gen1 ports include one with PowerShare for charging devices while the system sleeps. HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort over USB Type-C drive external monitors. An SD 4.0 card reader, RJ-45 Ethernet and Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 8265 with Bluetooth 4.2 cover wired and wireless needs. A uSIM slot supports mobile broadband.

Single memory slot caps upgrades at 16 GB

Only one DDR4 slot exists, so expanding beyond the factory 8 GB requires replacing the module entirely. The 12.5 inch chassis limits internal expansion to the existing SSD. Integrated graphics share system RAM, reducing available memory for heavy multitasking. Battery life is guaranteed to hold a charge but runtime varies with workload.

Questions about this item

Will the 8 GB DDR4 soldered memory need to be replaced if I want more capacity?

The single slot supports up to 16 GB DDR4, so the installed module would have to be swapped for a larger one.

What caps sustained throughput when the laptop runs flat out?

The Intel UHD Graphics 620 shares the 8 GB system memory, so heavy graphics loads compete with the CPU for bandwidth.

How loud and hot does the 12.5 inch chassis get during all-day use?

The compact 0.65 inch profile relies on a single fan; expect noticeable warmth near the hinge and moderate fan noise under continuous load.
