Ready-to-work 12.5-inch business laptop

The DELL Latitude 7290 arrives with Windows 10 Pro 64Bit installed and an Intel Core i5-8350U processor running at 1.70 GHz. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB solid-state drive handle office applications and web browsing without delay. The 12.5 inch anti-glare panel shows 1366 x 768 resolution for clear text in bright rooms.

Integrated graphics and single memory slot

Intel UHD Graphics 620 shares system memory, so video playback and light editing run on the existing 8 GB without a separate card. One DDR4 slot supports up to 16 GB total, allowing a straightforward upgrade when workloads grow. Bluetooth 4.2 connects mice, keyboards or headsets without cables.

Magnesium-alloy chassis with versatile ports

A magnesium-alloy back and 0.65 inch profile keep the 2.63 kg unit rigid during daily commutes. HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort over USB Type-C, two USB 3.1 Gen1 ports (one with PowerShare), RJ-45, a universal audio jack and an SD 4.0 card reader cover monitors, wired networks and peripherals without dongles. The spill-resistant keyboard includes a track stick for pointer control while hands stay on the home row.

Questions about this item

Can the 8 GB DDR4 memory be upgraded later?

The laptop has one memory slot and supports up to 16 GB DDR4, so the installed 8 GB module can be replaced with a single 16 GB stick.

What limits sustained performance first, the processor or the graphics?

The Intel UHD Graphics 620 uses shared system memory, so graphics workloads will hit the memory bandwidth ceiling before the 1.70 GHz Core i5-8350U reaches its thermal limit.

How loud and hot does the 12.5 inch chassis get during all-day use?

With a low-power 1.70 GHz processor and integrated graphics, the fan stays quiet and the magnesium-alloy body remains only warm during typical office tasks.
