Compact business laptop

The Dell Latitude 7290 is a 12.5-inch ultraportable built for professionals who need a lightweight Windows 10 Pro machine. An Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor running at 1.90 GHz pairs with 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1366 x 768 HD display.

Travel-focused users vs stationary power seekers

This notebook suits mobile workers who value Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, HDMI output, Gigabit Ethernet and a microSD reader for client-site presentations. Buyers who want more storage, a touchscreen, discrete graphics or a higher-resolution panel should look at something else.

256 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD

The single specification that decides fit is the 256 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe solid-state drive. It determines both capacity and interface for the primary boot volume, so any workflow needing more space or a different drive protocol will require another system.
