Compact business laptop for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7290 is a 12.5-inch laptop built for travel and client meetings. Its quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U processor runs at 1.9 GHz with 8 MB L2 cache. The system ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. Windows 10 Pro x64 is pre-installed.

256 GB NVMe storage and 32 GB memory headroom

The 256 GB NVMe drive provides fast boot and application loading while conserving battery life. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles the 1366 x 768 HD display and external monitors via HDMI. The 32 GB DDR4 allocation supports heavy multitasking and virtual machines without paging. Demanding 3D workloads or large media libraries will exceed the integrated graphics and storage capacity.

Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI expand connectivity

A Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port enables high-speed peripherals and docks for desk setups. HDMI output connects to projectors and televisions for presentations. Gigabit Ethernet, two USB 3.0 ports, a microSD reader, and Bluetooth 4.2 cover wired and wireless needs. The 720p webcam supports video calls. No optical drive or touchscreen is included.

Questions about this item

Will the Intel Core i7-8650U and 32GB DDR4 handle the same workloads as my older 8GB laptop?

The quad-core 1.9 GHz processor and 32GB DDR4 provide significantly more multi-threaded capacity than an 8GB system, so existing applications will run with more headroom.

How can I verify the 256GB NVMe SSD and Thunderbolt 3 port are functioning after setup?

In Windows 10 Pro, open Device Manager to confirm the M.2 NVMe drive appears under Disk Drives and the Thunderbolt controller is listed without errors.

Does the box contain only the laptop, charger and battery, or are cables for HDMI and USB 3.0 included?

The package includes the laptop, charger and battery; HDMI and USB 3.0 cables are not supplied and must be purchased separately.
