Mobile productivity partner

The Dell Latitude 7390 is a 13.3 inch touchscreen laptop built for professionals who work away from a desk. Its quad-core Intel Core i5-8350U processor at 1.7 GHz and 8 GB of DDR4 memory handle office applications and web-based workflows. The 512 GB NVMe drive provides fast storage for documents and media. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

Thermals and efficiency

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 shares system memory and keeps power draw modest during typical tasks. A 13.3 inch chassis with passive-heavy cooling runs quietly when browsing, editing documents or streaming video. The 1.70 GHz base clock and efficient Kaby Lake R architecture support extended battery life on the move. Fan noise stays low under light workloads.

Sustained load behaviour

Under continuous multi-core load the U-series processor will throttle to maintain thermal limits, so prolonged compiles or heavy multitasking run slower than short bursts. The 6 MB L2 cache helps mitigate frequency drops but cannot eliminate them. Integrated graphics 620 are not suited for sustained 3D rendering or gaming. Buyers needing consistent high throughput should consider a workstation-class device.

Questions about this item

How do I install the M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD and what step is often missed?

The 512 GB drive fits the M.2 slot; the step often missed is enabling the NVMe option in the BIOS before cloning or installing Windows 10 Pro.

What maintenance will the 8 GB DDR4 memory and 512 GB NVMe SSD need later?

The soldered 8 GB DDR4 cannot be upgraded; the NVMe SSD can be swapped for a larger M.2 drive if capacity becomes tight.

Which limit appears first during sustained loads on the Intel UHD Graphics 620?

The integrated GPU 620 shares system memory and thermal headroom with the 1.7 GHz quad-core CPU, so graphics-heavy tasks hit thermal throttling before the SSD or RAM saturate.
