Core i7-8665U Ultrabook

The Dell Latitude 7400 is a 14-inch business ultrabook powered by an 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8665U quad-core processor reaching 4.80 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory at 1866 MHz and a 256 GB solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit comes pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Mobile professionals needing IR login

Buyers who want a built-in IR camera for Windows Hello and a Thunderbolt 3 port for docks or external GPUs will find both here. The anti-glare FHD panel and backlit keyboard suit long days on the road. Users requiring discrete graphics, touchscreen input, or more than 8 GB of soldered memory should consider other models.

Soldered 8 GB DDR4 limits future upgrades

The 8 GB of DDR4 memory is not user-expandable, so the configuration you buy determines the ceiling for multitasking workloads. The 256 GB SSD and single Thunderbolt 3 port remain the primary expansion paths. Verify that 8 GB meets your application requirements before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the 8 GB DDR4 memory need upgrading for heavier workloads?

The 8 GB DDR4 1866 module is soldered and cannot be expanded, so capacity is fixed for the life of the device.

Does the Core i7-8665U throttle under continuous load?

The 4-core 1.9 GHz up to 4.80 GHz CPU will hit its thermal ceiling before the 65 W adapter or 60 Wh battery limit performance.

How loud does the fan get during an all-day work session?

The compact 14" chassis with a 60 Wh battery relies on a single fan that spins up noticeably when the quad-core processor sustains high clocks.
