Product identity

The Dell Latitude 7400 is a 14.0" business laptop with a silver aluminium chassis. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i7-8665U quad-core processor, 16GB memory and a 1TB SSD. The non-touch FHD panel shows 1920 x 1080 resolution. Integrated graphics handle everyday workloads.

Thermals noise power

The slim profile measures 17.82 mm at the front and 18.96 mm at the rear, weighing 1.36 kg. A compact form factor limits cooling surface, so sustained turbo at 4.80 GHz may trigger fan spin under heavy load. Typical office tasks stay quiet with modest power draw from the 1.9 GHz base clock.

Bundled value

A Thunderbolt 3 port with Power Delivery and DisplayPort drives external displays and charges via a single cable. HDMI 1.4 adds a second video output. USB 3.1 Gen 1 and a uSD 4.0 card reader cover peripherals and media. Camera shutter and optional SafeScreen protect privacy on the move.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 1 TB SSD in the Latitude 7400, and what step is often missed?

The 1 TB SSD is already installed; no installation is required. The step people miss is confirming the drive is recognised in the BIOS after any service work.

What maintenance or replacement will the 16 GB memory need later?

The 16 GB memory is soldered to the board and cannot be replaced or upgraded. No user maintenance is possible; only a board-level repair would change capacity.

What limit appears first on the i7-8665U during sustained load?

The quad-core processor reaches its thermal ceiling under continuous work, causing clock speeds to settle below the 4.80 GHz turbo frequency.
