Business laptop for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7400 combines an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8665U processor with 32GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. A 14 inch 1920 x 1080 touchscreen running Windows 11 Pro supports pen and finger input. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics handles everyday visual tasks.

Sustained workload behaviour

The quad core CPU runs at 1.9GHz base and can reach 4.80GHz turbo while the 60WHr battery supplies power. Active cooling keeps performance stable during long document editing, video calls or spreadsheet sessions. The 65W barrel adapter recharges the 4-cell pack between meetings.

Questions about this item

How loud and warm does the i7-8665U get during all-day use with the 60WHr battery and 65W adapter?

The 4-cell 60WHr battery and 65W barrel adapter support the quad-core processor; typical office workloads keep fan noise low and surface temperatures comfortable for lap use.

What must I already own to use the Thunderbolt 3 port for dual monitors and charging?

You need Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C monitors that accept DisplayPort alt-mode and Power Delivery, plus compatible cables; the laptop supplies up to 65 W over the single Thunderbolt 3 port.

Can I connect my older USB-A peripherals and HDMI 1.4 display without adapters?

Yes — two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports and one HDMI 1.4 output are built in, so legacy mice, keyboards, drives and 1080p monitors plug straight in.
