Dell Latitude 7400 business ultraportable

The Dell Latitude 7400 is a 14.0 inch business ultraportable built around an Intel Core i7-8665U quad-core processor. It ships with 32GB of DDR4 2666 memory and a 512GB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed. The non-touch FHD display resolves 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Memory capacity and storage headroom

Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 2666 memory gives ample headroom for heavy multitasking, large spreadsheet models and multiple virtual machines. The 512GB NVMe drive offers fast boot and application load times while storing a substantial local working set. Users with extensive media libraries or large project archives will need external or cloud storage.

Thermals, noise and power draw

A 60Whr four-cell battery supports Dell ExpressCharge for rapid replenishment. The system draws power from a 65W worldwide AC adapter with a 125V US cord. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics keeps thermal output modest during typical office workloads. The aluminium chassis helps dissipate heat without aggressive fan curves.

Questions about this item

Will the 14.0" FHD 1920 x 1080 display work with my older docking station that only has VGA and DVI ports?

The laptop uses USB-C and HDMI for video output; you would need an active USB-C or HDMI to VGA/DVI adapter to connect that docking station.

How can I verify the i7-8665U is running at its 4.80 GHz boost clock under load?

Open Task Manager's Performance tab or run a CPU stress tool; the frequency graph should show the processor reaching 4.80 GHz on at least one core when thermals allow.

Does the box include the 65W AC adapter and US power cord, or must I buy them separately?

The 65W worldwide AC adapter and 125V US power cord are included; no separate purchase is required for power.
