Business-ready laptop for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7420 is a 14.0-inch laptop with a 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i7 11th Gen processor with a minimum 2.80GHz speed, 16GB of soldered memory and a 1TB SSD. Integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics handles everyday visual tasks. The unit is new and ships in black.

Verify memory and port needs before purchase

Memory is soldered with zero upgrade slots, so the 16GB capacity is fixed for the life of the device. The specification lists USB: 0, so confirm that your peripherals and docks can connect through any remaining interfaces not detailed here. The SSD capacity may vary within the 480GB to 512GB range for a nominal 512GB drive, though this unit states 1TB.

Replaces an older thin-and-light

This model upgrades from machines constrained to 8GB memory or smaller SSDs, delivering 16GB and 1TB in a 14-inch chassis. The jump is worth it when you need more headroom for multitasking and local files without moving to a larger screen size. It is not for buyers who require user-replaceable memory, a touchscreen, a backlit keyboard or a discrete graphics option.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the Latitude 7420 and what must I buy separately?

The laptop ships with the 14.0 inch FHD screen, Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB memory, 1TB SSD and Windows 11 Pro installed. No optical drive, no expansion covers and no external accessories are included, so any docking station, carry case or extra charger would be a separate purchase.

Which processor generation should I choose for the 7420?

The unit is built with an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 running at a minimum 2.80GHz, delivering the performance level described for this model.

What does the 2.80GHz minimum speed mean in daily use?

It guarantees the processor will not drop below 2.80GHz under load, so tasks such as spreadsheet calculation, video playback and multi-tab browsing stay responsive without throttling.
