Business ultraportable with touch display

The Dell Latitude 7420 is a 14.0 inch laptop built for professionals who need a responsive touchscreen and a compact form factor. It ships with Windows 10 Pro and an Intel Core i5-1145G7 quad-core processor that reaches 4.40 GHz on turbo. Integrated graphics drive the 1920 x 1080 FHD panel for everyday productivity.

16 GB memory and 256 GB SSD headroom

Sixteen gigabytes of RAM keeps multiple browser tabs, office suites and video calls running without swapping to the 256 GB solid-state drive. The capacity handles a typical business workload and a modest local file library. Users working with large media projects or virtual machines will reach the storage limit quickly.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

The aluminum chassis measures 0.68 inches thick and weighs 2.70 lb, leaving limited space for airflow during sustained loads. Fan noise becomes audible when the processor holds high turbo frequencies for extended periods. Thunderbolt 4 ports deliver power and video while the 802.11ac wireless link maintains steady connectivity.

Questions about this item

Will my older USB-A peripherals work with the USB 3.2 Gen 1 port on the Latitude 7420?

Yes, the USB 3.2 Gen 1 port with PowerShare is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices, so existing keyboards, mice and flash drives will function normally.

How can I confirm the Intel Core i5-1145G7 is reaching its 4.40 GHz turbo frequency under load?

Open Task Manager's Performance tab or a monitoring utility such as HWMonitor while running a demanding task; the CPU clock speed should spike to 4.40 GHz on at least one core when thermal headroom allows.

Does the box include a Thunderbolt 4 cable for connecting an external display?

The system ships with a 65 W USB-C power adapter and regional power cord; a Thunderbolt 4 certified cable for displays or docks is not included and must be purchased separately.
