14-inch business laptop with Core i7-1185G7

The Dell Latitude 7420 is a 14-inch laptop built for work and business use. It ships new with Windows 11 Pro and an Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor. The 16 GB of memory and 512 GB NVMe storage support typical office workloads and multitasking.

16 GB RAM and 512 GB NVMe capacity

The 16 GB of RAM provides headroom for multiple business applications and browser tabs running together. The 512 GB NVMe drive holds the operating system, productivity suites and a large document library. Very large local data sets or heavy virtual machines will exceed the available space.

NVMe storage interface limits

The NVMe drive delivers fast boot and application load times within the PCIe interface used by this model. Sequential throughput is capped by the drive controller and the platform's lane allocation. Sustained write performance will throttle once the SLC cache fills during very large file transfers.

Questions about this item

Will the 16 GB of soldered memory and the 512 GB NVMe drive work with my existing Dell docking station?

The 16 GB RAM is soldered to the motherboard and the 512 GB NVMe drive is internal, so both stay with the laptop; docking-station compatibility depends on the dock's own specifications.

How can I verify the Core i7-1185G7 and the 14-inch panel are performing correctly after first boot?

Open Windows Task Manager to confirm the i7-1185G7 shows 4 cores and 8 logical processors, and check Display settings to see the native resolution of the 14-inch screen.

Does the box include a power adapter and any video adapters, or do I need to buy them separately?

The supplier data lists only the laptop with Windows 11 Pro installed; any power adapter or video adapter would be a separate purchase.
