Professional 2-in-1 for Mobile Workflows

The Dell Latitude 7420 2-in-1 is a 14-inch convertible laptop built for professionals who need a single device for typing, presenting and touch interaction. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i5-1145G7 processor with 4 cores reaching 4.4 GHz, backed by 16GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB SSD. The aluminum chassis houses a 1920x1080 touchscreen, Intel integrated graphics, HDMI, DisplayPort, USB 3.1 Type-A and Thunderbolt connectivity.

Suits Mobile Professionals Not Heavy Workloads

This machine suits consultants, managers and field staff who value a lightweight aluminum design, touchscreen versatility and Windows 11 Pro security features for daily productivity. Buyers who need discrete graphics for rendering, larger storage volumes than 512GB, or user-replaceable memory should look at alternative form factors. The integrated graphics and fixed 16GB DDR4 configuration limit suitability for intensive creative or engineering tasks.

16GB DDR4 Memory Is Soldered

The single specification that decides fit is the 16GB DDR4 configuration which is not expandable beyond the factory amount. If your workflow regularly exceeds this memory ceiling, this unit will not meet the requirement. If 16GB matches your current and projected workloads, the Core i5-1145G7, 512GB SSD and 14-inch touchscreen deliver a balanced mobile platform.

Questions about this item

Will the 14" 1920x1080 touchscreen and Thunderbolt port work with my older USB 3.0 dock and external monitor?

The Thunderbolt port is backward compatible with USB 3.0 docks, and the HDMI and DisplayPort outputs can drive an external monitor alongside the built-in 14" 1920x1080 touchscreen.

How can I verify the Core i5-1145G7 is reaching its 4.4 GHz boost and the 16GB DDR4 is running at full speed after setup?

Open Task Manager's Performance tab to confirm the processor hits 4.4 GHz under load and that 16GB DDR4 is detected at its rated speed.

Does the box include a stylus for the touchscreen or only the laptop, 512GB SSD, Windows 11 Pro and power adapter?

The package contains the Latitude 7420 2-in-1 with 512GB SSD, 16GB DDR4, Windows 11 Pro installed, and the power adapter; a stylus is not included.
