Business laptop for mobile professionals

The Dell Latitude 7420 is a 14.0 inch notebook built for business productivity. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i5-1145G7 vPro processor with 4 cores and a 4.4GHz turbo frequency. Integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics drive the 1920 x 1080 Full HD display. The system includes 16GB DDR4 memory at 4267MHz and a 2TB NVMe SSD.

Suits managed fleets needing vPro security

This configuration targets organisations that require Intel vPro hardware-based management and TPM 2.0 security features. The 16GB memory supports typical office multitasking while the 2TB NVMe drive handles large local datasets. Buyers who need dedicated graphics for 3D rendering or video editing should look elsewhere. Users requiring more than 32GB maximum memory capacity will find the ceiling restrictive.

16GB DDR4 at 4267MHz soldered configuration

The laptop ships with 16GB of DDR4 memory running at 4267MHz, with a manufacturer maximum of 32GB. This specification determines whether the device can handle your workload without future upgrades. Verify your application memory requirements against this fixed capacity before purchase.

Questions about this item

How much heat and fan noise should I expect from the Intel Core i5-1145G7 vPro when the laptop runs all day?

The 4-core i5-1145G7 vPro operates at a 2.6GHz base and 4.4GHz turbo, so sustained workloads will warm the chassis and spin the fan, but the 14.0" design keeps it manageable for office tasks.

Which cables or peripherals do I need to connect an external monitor to the HDMI port?

A standard HDMI cable is all that is required; the port drives 1920 x 1080 output directly from the Intel Iris Xe graphics.

Will my existing DDR4-4267 SO-DIMM modules work if I want to expand the 16GB up to the 32GB maximum?

Yes, the board accepts DDR4 memory at 4267MHz, so compatible SO-DIMMs can be added to reach the 32GB limit.
