Business ultraportable

The Dell Latitude 7420 is a 14.0 inch non-touch laptop built for mobile professionals. It runs Windows 10 Home on an Intel Core i7-1165G7 quad-core processor with a 4.70 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD. Integrated graphics drive the 1920 x 1080 FHD display.

Suits travellers needing light weight

This configuration targets users who prioritise portability and general office productivity. Buyers who need a dedicated graphics card for 3D rendering or video editing should look elsewhere. Those requiring a touchscreen interface or a larger display for multi-window workflows will not find those features here.

Quad-core 4.70 GHz turbo processor

The Intel Core i7-1165G7 reaches 4.70 GHz on turbo boost across its four cores. This clock speed determines how quickly the laptop handles burst workloads such as spreadsheet calculation or code compilation. If your daily tasks demand sustained multi-threaded performance beyond what four cores can deliver, this processor will be the limiting factor.

Questions about this item

How do I add more memory to the Latitude 7420, and what mistake should I avoid?

The 16GB memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded; do not buy SO-DIMM modules expecting an empty slot.

Which component in the Latitude 7420 will need replacement first?

The 512GB SSD is the only user-replaceable storage part; plan to swap it when capacity or health declines.

What limits sustained performance on the Core i7-1165G7?

The 1.2GHz base clock and integrated graphics share the cooling system, so thermals throttle the 4.7GHz turbo during long loads.
